Secondary 3 Overseas Adventure Camp @ Tanjung Piai, Malaysia.

As you'll know from reading my previous updates, I've been in a camp from the 26th to 28th January.
It was an awesome camp with my new classmates and form-teacher, Mr Lee.
Although the food served there was ........ , I don't regret attending this camp with them because this camp has definitely bonded us more strongly together and also built up our class spirit.
Hooray for 3Gigabytes! :D

Day 1.
Assembled in the morning at the school hall.
After that, we took the bus to Tanjung Piai.

The journey was about 1hour 45minutes.

We went through the Singapore custom and then to the Malaysia's custom.

On the way to Tanjung Piai, most of us were practicing cheering our class cheer and the songs for our campfire performance.

We were also eating and sharing some tidbits that we've brought.
Some of us were already pretty excited and hyped up for the camp.

Assembled in front of the teachers' dormitory as soon as we reached Tanjung Piai Resort.

We're gonna have our camp in a resort. Pretty cool right? :)

We're somewhat in the middle of the sea and the scenery is mad pretty!
I enjoyed the natural strong winds even though it was freezing cold.

My class was separated into 2 groups but we're still having the camp together as a class.
Sham and Denise were our camp trainers.

We saw an animal "popping" out of the sea.

It looked like a sea otter but I'm not very sure about it.

We were then assigned to our respective dormitories.

The girls' dormitories will be at the 2nd level while the boys' dormitories will be at the 1st level.

Every girls in a class shared 1 dormitory but I'm not sure about the arrangement for the boys.

I was together with 3Gigabyte's girls.

We had a number of double-decker beds and pillows.
I slept at the upper decker bed and Jia Shu was underneath me. Hehe.

After that, we changed into our wet attire and took some materials that we needed for our activities on that day.
We headed for our lunch and it started raining damn heavily.
My group's dining table and chairs were wet and we were also drenched as the wind blew the rain towards us.
We moved our table further away from the railings and started eating.
The food was ... but it's okay, I still managed to eat some of it.
We kick-start our first day of camp with the activity, sampan-rowing, even though it was drizzling.
It was basically rowing the boat to the middle of the sea with 10 people, including Mr Lee, Denise and the boat man, in the boat.

It was quite fun but definitely tiring.
My group's boat didn't haven benches for us to sit on therefore we had to stretch out our arms and oars in order to reach out to the water to row the boat.

We stopped rowing the boat somewhere in the middle of the sea and let the waves bring us to nowhere. LOL.

It was quite dizzy in there and Fu Chui experienced sea sick.

After that, we had our next activity which was sherwoods.

While walking to the area for our activity, we had to walk down a slope of mud.

I slipped and almost fell.

Luckily, I grabbed hold of Mr Lee's arm to support myself so I didn't fall. :x Opps?

Sherwoods was fun to the max! :D
We had to cross the small "river" of sea water by climbing the monkey bar, balancing on a tree, balancing on a rope and lastly, balancing on 3 trees tied up together.
Group 14 did monkey bar first while group 13 did balancing on a tree.
Steffi, Fu Chui, Joleen, Zhen Jie, Wei Peng and I were there first few to try and cross over by climbing the monkey bar.
I've always sucked in climbing monkey bars.
To be exact, I don't even know how to climb it.
Thus, it was pretty obvious that I'll definitely fall into the "river" of sea water.

It was quite deep because I could barely touch the seabed with my feet.

It was also very muddy.
I was the last person to cross over before it started raining heavily again.

It was damn freezing cold when I was wet from falling into the "river" of sea water and then the strong wind started blowing and it rained heavily.
Joleen, Steffi, Fu Chui and I were basically shivering non-stop.
We're not under a sheltered area but we were trying to shelter ourselves under a tree which obviously didn't work at all.
The rain lasted pretty long and we were brought to a sheltered area.
After it stopped, we headed to our resort to meet up with the rest of our classmates.
When the rain completely stopped, we headed back to the area to continue our sherwoods activity.
The rest who haven tried continued with their activity.
Joleen went through it again but Fu Chui, Steffi and I didn't want to do it again thus we remained at the other side.
In order to cross over, we had to cross over by completing a different obstacle from the others.
We crossed over by walking on the 3 tress tied together route.

None of the 3 of us fell into the "river" of sea water.

After that, our next obstacle was walking on the rope.

I managed to complete it without falling.

Mr Lee participated in some sherwoods activity together with us too.

After that, we headed for a short wash-up for our shoes and legs.
We then headed back to the resort and changed into our dry clothes.

Soon, we went to have our dinner.

After dinner, we had our blind mines(?) trail.

Basically, we had to be blind folded and we will be guided to walk around the resort without making any noise.

After the activity was over, we went to a meeting room and we had our camp cheers rehearsal.

We also had our debrief session with our trainers followed by supper afterwards.

We were then dismissed back into our dormitories for our shower time.

We only had 5 cubicles in the toilet and we had to queue up for it.

Fu Chui, Jia Shu and I were the last three.
Lights out was at 11.30pm and we didn't even get the chance to shower yet.

The water pipes are not working and there's no water flowing down the tap except for the last cubicle.

We had to wait for it but by the time we entered it, a trainer came knocking and shouting at us.
She gave us 5minutes to shower.

I mean like what-the-fuck?! 5minutes, shower what shit. Zzz.
Besides, we just entered the cubicle.

I got so pissed off and we got out of the cubicle without showering.

Imagine how fucking gross I felt the whole day, night and the next whole day about it. Argh.
I seriously couldn't stand it but there's nothing I can do.
There was also a short blackout in our dormitory.

I couldn't get any sleep until it was early in the morning.

Overall, I only get a few hours of sleep. .__.

Day 2.
Morning call was at 7am but I obviously woke up earlier to prepare the stuffs that we're going to need for the activities of the day.
When it was time, we headed down to the cafeteria for our breakfast.

After we had our breakfast, we headed for our first activity of the day which was paint ball.
Paint ball was awesomely fun but yet tiring because you have to carry the heavy marker and run around, hiding.
My aim is damn off and pajiao. .__.
I couldn't shoot anybody at all but instead, I got shot in the shoulder by Steven. :@ LOL.

My team consists of Joleen, Jia Shu, Mr Lee and me while our opponent team consists of Sham and other classmates.

Anyway, I had fun participating in paint ball.

After paint ball, we had our tree climbing activity.
I have fears of height since young but I still wanted to try it however, I didn't get the chance to try tree climbing since there was a lack of time.

I felt pretty disappointed yet glad at the same time. Lol.

Only some of us go the chance to tried the tree climbing activity.
Our next activity was the challenge village.
For this activity, we needed to be split into our 2 groups in order to participate this activity more efficiently.

Since my group is 14, I'm together with all my lovely girls except for Mei Lian.

We went through different obstacles together as a group.
Duck-walk under a net of muddy puddle together without breaking apart (Duck-walk = our strategy) > Balancing beam without breaking apart > Rebirth (Carrying a person and put him/her through the hole of the tire to the other side) > Balancing on a tire without breaking apart (need a strategy).
I'm pretty sure that this activity bonded us more closer together. Hehehe.

Rebirth was the most fun for everyone of us, I supposed.

However, that's not because we get to carry people or we get to be carried by others.

It was the jokes and how we work together to carry the person over to the other side through the hole of the tire.

Rong Zhou could manage receiving the person from the other side by carrying him/her by himself. LOL. Like wtf, wow?

We headed back to our resort for our lunch then.

After that, we went for our trekking.

Walked damn far and the weather was scorching hot.

While walking to the nature reserve park, we stopped halfway to rehearse our camp cheers and performances.
Reached the destination and then we rested for a while by the jetty of the nature reserve park

We saw lots of monkeys and some mud-skippers at the nature reserve park.

Then, we headed for our jetty jump activity next.

I was pretty scared at first because of the height.
Rong Zhou offered me the PFD so that I can jump down the jetty first but I wasn't prepared yet so I rejected. :x

After I got my PFD on, I jumped down the jetty after Jia Shu.

I think Rong Zhou was after me. Lol.

Sadly, we only had to jump once. :(
The sea water was mad salty. LOL.

After we got up from the sea, it was freaking cold because there were strong winds blowing.

All of us were shivering and then we ran to our dormitories to shower and dry ourselves up.
I showered a while and then I prepared myself for the camp fire night.
Soon, we assembled together and practiced our camp cheers and performances.

After dinner, we went to the venue for our camp fire night.
To be frank, camp fire night was a disappointment.

There was no songs played to make us hyper and most of us were like bored.

Luckily, 3Gigabyte's camp cheers and performances went through smoothly.

When we were about to cheer and perform, there's was a mini firework for us. Hehehe.

At the end of our cheers and performances, we invited Mr Lee and all of us sang him a birthday song together since it was his birthday. :)

Our camp trainers tried to make us hyper by doing cheers and etc but it wasn't really working well.

There were mini fireworks and the sky was filled with shiny and beautiful stars.

It was a mad pretty scenery that we'll hardly get the chance to view it in Singapore since at night, Singapore is still very bright due to lamp posts and etc.

After our camp fire night ended, we headed back to the resort in the dark night.

We had our debrief session followed by supper.

We were then dismissed back into our dormitories for our shower and bedtime.

Lights out at 12 or 12.30am, I forgot.

Day 3.
Woke up at I-forgot-what-time.
We packed our bags and etc then off we headed to assemble with the class.
Soon, we boarded our bus and off we started our journey back to Singapore.

I fell asleep in the bus and it was freaking cold at that time because it was raining heavily outside and the bus air-con was directly facing me.
I wanted to take out my jacket but it was in another bag which was at the compartment at the bottom of the bus.
Too bad for me, I had to endure the coldness and hunger.
We reached the Malaysia custom and we got our passport stamped.

At that time, it was still raining heavily which obviously mean that it was mad cold.

Headed back to the bus and continued our journey to the Singapore custom.
We got our passport scanned and off we took the bus back to school.

Reached school and we were dismissed.

Home sweet home aftermath. :)
